Continuing a voting trend in 2020 and 2022, Democrat Kamala Harris has a 2-1 advantage over Republican Donald Trump in early voting in Michigan's presidential election, according to a new poll conducted for the Detroit News and WDIV.
The News reports:
About 42 percent of Michigan voters supporting the Democratic vice president said they are planning to cast an absentee ballot, while about 18 percent of those supporting the GOP former president plan to vote absentee, according to a Detroit News/WDIV-TV (Channel 4) poll of 600 likely Michigan voters.
Overall, about 29% of Michigan voters plan to vote by absentee ballot, while 7% said they would cast their ballot early at an in-person early voting site, the survey conducted Oct. 1-4 by Glengariff Group found.
Harris had a narrow lead over Trump in the poll of 2.6 percentage points, which was within the margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points.
