The Detroit Lions played outstanding football Sunday at Ford Field, defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars by a lopsided 52-6. They're now 9-1.
The downside of such a easy victor was that linebacker Alex Anzalone broke his left forearm in the third and will miss 6-to-8 weeks, Coach Dan Campbell said.
It's the the fourth time this season the team has lost a key defensive starter to injury, the most prominent player being Aidan Hutchinson.
"It’s always hard losing a player like (Anzalone)," cornerback Amik Robertson said, according to the Detroit Free Press. "Of course we probably don’t have another Anz, but we got younger guys that can step up and finish ... We got guys out there playing for one another, I think we’ll be fine."
On the upside, defensive end Za'Darius Smith, who came from Cleveland, made his debut Sunday and showed promise.
