The Detroit Tigers scandal involving Sam Menzin, an assistant general manager with the team, was mentioned on Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update.

Menzin reportedly resigned recently amid a probe into allegations by two former female employees that he sent, on several occasions, photos of his penis via Snapchat, dating back to 2017.

On Saturday, SNL Weekend Update host Michael Che said:

"An assistant general manager of the Detroit Tigers has resigned after he allegedly sent lewd photos to his colleagues."

The screen behind Che then flashed a fake photo of a phone text with a blurred image of a bat or sex organ that said: "NOW THIS IS A TORPEDO BAT."

Torpedo bats seem to be the latest craze in Major League Baseball. The Collegiate publication describes it as a bat that has "the normal size and weight of a traditional-style Major League bat and redistributes the wood in a slightly different shape in an attempt to make the fattest part of the bat, or the 'sweet spot,' bigger."
